Compliance

Compliance

Because our work touches people’s lives, we make compliance with the law — and the protection of trainees’ rights and daily lives — the foundation of everything we do.

This page is a reference translation. The Japanese version prevails.

Policy

Our approach

Lawful, fair, and transparent.

We carry out supervision in accordance with the Technical Intern Training Act (Act on Proper Technical Intern Training and Protection of Technical Intern Trainees), the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act, labor laws and regulations, and the operational guidelines of the Organization for Technical Intern Training (OTIT). Supervision fees are set within the actual costs required for supervision, and are published as our supervision fee schedule.

Rights

Protecting
trainees’ rights

Passports and residence cards stay with the trainee

Trainees keep and manage their own passports and residence cards.

Their money is their own

Trainees manage their own wages and savings. The law prohibits stipulating penalties for breach of contract, as well as any savings arrangement made without the trainee’s own free will.

Respecting freedom in daily life

Going out on days off and keeping in touch with family and friends are up to the trainee. We check housing and living conditions at every visit and audit.

Those who seek help are protected

The law provides that no one may be treated disadvantageously for having sought advice or made a report.
